📚 Submission Rules, Policies & Terms

By submitting an article to AI Press, you agree to the following submission guidelines and terms:

🧠 1. Originality & Plagiarism

• All submissions must be your original work. AI-assisted writing is acceptable, but content must be unique and not copied from other sources.
• We use plagiarism detection tools. If more than 15% of your article is found to be copied without citation, it will be rejected without refund.

✍️ 2. Tone & Formatting

• Articles must be coherent, well-structured, and free of obvious grammatical errors.
• Use proper paragraphing, titles, subtitles, and bulleted or numbered lists when needed.
• Informative, factual, or opinion pieces are all welcome. Just label opinionated content clearly with context.

🔗 3. Citations & References

• Include any factual claims that require verification with a reference at the bottom.
• References must include author, date, and source. We support web URLs, book citations, and DOI numbers.

🌐 4. Language

• Currently, only English and Spanish submissions are accepted. Additional languages may be added later.

🧑‍💼 5. Pseudonyms & Attribution

• If you use a pseudonym, it must be unique or previously used by you.
• Plain “Anonymous” is not permitted to avoid duplication. Use something like “Anonymous Helen.”
• We do not allow the same pseudonym to be used by multiple contributors unless reused by the original author.

✅ 6. What We Accept

• AI-written or hybrid articles with clear purpose, structure, and value.
• Well-cited factual articles, thoughtful opinion pieces, science explainers, cultural essays, etc.
• Creative writing is accepted only if marked as “fiction” or “allegorical.”

🚫 7. What We Don’t Accept

• Misinformation or unfounded claims presented as fact
• Clickbait, spam, or low-effort AI dumps
• Submissions under the identical pseudonym already used by another contributor
• Unedited AI output with no structure or value
• Submissions that do not meet our length and structure guidelines

💵 8. Refunds & Cancellations

• You may request a refund only before editorial review begins.
• Refunds are issued on the first business day of the month after the request.
• The full $1.99 will be refunded if requested on the same calendar day before 11:59 PM CT (GMT-5 or GMT-6 depending on season).
• If requested after that time, only $1.00 may be refunded to cover review processing costs.

💰 9. Submission Fee & Hosting Duration

• Each article submission costs $1.99 — currently discounted 25% from our full operational cost of $2.65.
• This fee covers:
  • ✅ AI detection & quality filtering
  • ✅ Plagiarism checks for originality
  • ✅ SEO optimization for visibility
  • ✅ Cloud hosting, indexing, and performance tuning
• Articles remain online for at least 24 months, and longer if they exceed their hosting cost through traffic or relevance.

📏 10. Length & Structure Guidelines

• Articles must be between 700 and 2000 words
• Word count excludes the title, author name, and references
• Submissions must show clear structure (intro, body, conclusion or logical flow)
• Fiction must be complete — no excerpts, fragments, or “to be continued” endings

📜 11. Licensing, Review, and Visibility Terms

• By submitting an article, you grant AI Press a non-exclusive, worldwide license to reproduce, distribute, index, and promote your work digitally.
• You retain full copyright and may republish your article elsewhere. However, AI Press must be credited as the original publisher when republishing in whole or in part.
• Articles are reviewed using a combination of automated filters (AI content detection, SEO analysis, plagiarism tools) and manual editorial review.
• AI Press favors well-formatted, well-referenced, original content. Articles with stronger formatting, citations, and clarity may receive greater visibility and homepage promotion.
• By submitting, you acknowledge that publication does not imply endorsement and that AI Press reserves the right to reclassify, archive, or de-index content if required by legal or editorial policy.

📦 12. Archiving & Deletion Requests

• Published articles may be removed only by formal request to AI Press management. Removal is granted only under exceptional legal or ethical circumstances.
• We reserve the right to archive, hide, or republish removed content unless removal is legally required.

✏️ 13. Article Edits and Post-Publication Updates

• Minor corrections (e.g., typos, grammar, citation formatting) can be requested via email and are free of charge.
• Major rewrites or resubmissions require a new upload and fee.

📧 14. Email Usage & Privacy

• We collect your email address only for necessary notifications, such as verification, status updates, or important correspondence.
• We do not send promotional spam or sell your email address to third parties under any circumstance.

🕛 15. Grace Period Before Final Review

• AI detection and plagiarism checks are performed during our processing cycle.
• Deferral to midnight on the day of submission provides a short window during which contributors or our staff may cancel or amend a submission prior to its final acceptance.
• It allows honest contributors to correct accidental issues, and ensures fair treatment without premature rejection or penalty.
